Cut wakame
Cut wakame
Wakame seaweed is now very popular in Europe, present in many delicatessen preparations and in the majority of Japanese cuisine restaurants. Cut wakame corresponds to the body of the wakame seaweed, thick center part being removed, finely chopped. This part of wakame is very tender, delicately iodized, rich in flavor.
Wakame is increasingly rare in Japan. Its last fishermen or farmers are old and the younger generations are losing interest in this harsh harvesting life.
Our wakame cut comes from the Prefectures of Iwate and Miyagi, origins very popular with gourmets.
Our perfect combination : cut wakame seaweed, when rehydrated in hot or cold water, gains 10 to 12 times its volume.
Rehydrated wakame seaweed can be used in miso soup, various soups, lacto-fermented foods, salads, udon noodles, etc.
In salads, a seasoning made from very good sesame oil will be perfect.
Not rehydrated, you can fry it and embellish your aperitifs or starters and main courses to bring them marine flavors.
