Akitakomachi Japanese rice

Akita Prefecture is known for its good land and water quality, which are conducive to the cultivation of high quality japanese rice.
Akitakomachi rice, grown in the heart of Akita Prefecture, is a premium rice, quite similar to koshihikari.

It is very popular in Japan for its stickiness, softness and flavor.
It is a perfect rice for making sushi, onigiri or simply to be eaten as is with your dishes.

It is smaller in size and has a lighter taste than other rice varieties.
Grains are fleshy and have a better chew than Koshihikari and has a nice shine after cooking.

Like all Japanese rices, it is delicious both freshly cooked and cold.
It is named after Ono Komachi, born in Akita and representative of the Prefecture.
